St. Louis-Based USA Mortgage Originates All Time High $1.206 Billion in Home Loans in 2009

St. Louis-based USA Mortgage announces that it originated $1.206 billion in home loans in 2009, an all-time high and a 106 percent increase over the $586 million in loans it originated in 2008.

“The achievement reflects what is possible when a hard-working, talented and customer-focused team of professionals applies itself to the fullest,” said Doug Schukar, president and chief executive officer. “Personal referrals continue to be our primary source of new business – a testimony to the cost efficiency of our operation and to the quality of the customer experience that our loan officers and the people supporting them routinely provide.”

USA Mortgage is a division of DAS Acquisition Company, LLC, the largest mortgage bank in metro St. Louis. As a mortgage bank, DAS handles all aspects of the home loan process – from origination through closing and funding. DAS currently employs approximately 220 people – including specialists in affiliated title insurance and appraisal companies – at 12140 Woodcrest Executive Dr. in Creve Coeur, Mo. All told, DAS grew headcount by 69 percent in 2009. It employed 130 people at the end of 2008.
